Screenwriter Kim Eun Sook has a knack for showcasing her actors as the most desirable—just think Gong Yoo in GoblinSong Joong Ki in Descendants of the SunLee Min Ho in Heirs, and Hyun Bin in Secret Garden. For her new drama Mr. Sunshine, Kim Eun Sook has picked actor Lee Byung Hun to be her leading man.
The writer had “wanted an actor who is talented and speaks good English. Luckily, Lee Byung Hun was a good match,” said Yoon Ha Rim, CEO of Hwa and Dam Pictures, according to Xports News.
“There’s a lot to prepare for this project,” CEO Yoon added. “It won’t be pre-made, but we’re planning to spend a lot of time on it to produce high-quality work. So we thought it’d be best to cast the actors as early as possible.”
It seems as if Kim always has an actor in mind when writing a drama. For instance, it took her five years to convince Gong Yoo to star in Goblin, her latest K-drama.
