Ubuntu Touch is also known as Ubuntu Phone which is a mobile version of the Ubuntu operating system which is currently in beta that was developed by Canonical and the Ubuntu community. It was designed primarily for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets.
Canonical announced an update of its Ubuntu Dual Boot app – which allows you to run Ubuntu and Android – which means ubuntu directly on your device, Updates make ubuntu directly on your device itself, this means that you try Ubuntu touch without wasting your Android Smartphone.

Install Ubuntu Touch on Android devices
When the Ubuntu Touch was first released for Android, the installation process was quite complicated. To flash Ubuntu Touch on your Android device, you had to have a Ubuntu desktop as well. However, now there is an easy method to install Ubuntu Touch on Android.
Before proceeding to flash Ubuntu Touch on Android Device, make sure that if you are unfamiliar with Ubuntu and using command line interface, you can brick your Android Phone. The current Ubuntu Touch beta version is not stable and there may be few bugs, so it doesn’t be a good idea to install Ubuntu Touch on your Android smartphone. Try only this if you have a spare smartphone or tablet that you don’t rely on.
Steps to Install Ubuntu Dual Boot App on Android
To get started, first download and install the official Ubuntu Dual Boot app on your Android Device. The process below will reset your device, so make sure that you have backed up all your data before starting.
Step 2. Now, Connect the Android device to the PC.
Step 3. Now, open the terminal/command prompt and enter the following:
Step 4. Once the device is connected, Open the terminal/command prompt and enter the following command:
chmod +x dualboot.sh
Step 5. Once that is done, enter the following command to run the script:
./dualboot.sh
Steps to Install Ubuntu Touch on Android
Once the installation of the Ubuntu dual boot app is done, you can now proceed to install Ubuntu Touch on Android.
Step 1. Open the Ubuntu Dual Boot app you just installed on your phone.
Step 2. Now, Select the channel by tapping on “Choose channel to install”.
Step 3. Next, Select the “utopic” channel, as recommended by Canonical. Make sure you tick on the “bootstrap” option.
Step 4. Click on Grant when the app requests Superuser access.
Step 5. Final, Tap on “Reboot to Ubuntu” to boot into Ubuntu Touch, Once the download is completed.
The above process will establish a dual boot installation with Android and Ubuntu Touch. At any step, if you want to boot into Android, then use the Power button to reboot.
